The Cascata do Penedo do Buraco (Penedo do Buraco Waterfall), at 650 metres altitude, on the north-eastern slope of Foia, is located near a tarmac road. It is a temporary waterfall, as it does not hold water all year round and flows only in the rainy season. The water from this waterfall falls from a huge boulder, practically inaccessible, uncovered by erosion and which is the perfect nesting place for some birds.
Surrounding the waterfall are chestnut trees shrouded in brambles and ferns and, further ahead, terraces with houses and family vegetable gardens.
